@chad @announcements @avilewis @verified I see "verified" in the browser, but I don't use the browser for fedi. I see nothing indicating "verified" on my phone. Without the self-verified check mark I still would be asking if it's legit. I suggest you do that too.

As a reminder: we do our best to monitor and identify prominent or notable accounts that might otherwise be subject to impersonation, and flag them as legitimate. We do this via an account role and through @verified. You can see all of the verified accounts by looking at who this account follows.
This is one step our team takes regarding trust and safety.
