(I'm revising a novel that needed an extra interstitial chapter, and brainstorming aloud helps force me to linearize my ideas—the author equivalent of rubber duck debugging. In this case ... well, he was already assured of a place in the credits, anyway.)
@cstross Just been rereading "A Life With Footnotes" by Rob Wilkins (biography of #TerryPrachett). He says that #Pratchett had a list of people he would phone up to discuss plot problems. But frequently he would explain the problem and then suddenly hang up without the person at the other end saying very much.
