@glyph I can't even parse the subtitle in the thumbnail. Is that saying there is a bubble, that there isn't, or what?

@xgranade there is a bubble. the subtitle is saying there is a “bubble case” (that makes sense) and an “anti-bubble case” (that does not)

@glyph I saw a thing today where someone is planning to invest billions building an AI data centre in Irvine, which I found hilarious because I've seen Irvine and let me tell you, *all* the intelligence there is artificial.

But then I got to thinking - they've not broken ground on this yet, and a data centre takes 18-24 months to build, which maybe doesn't even include planning? (Which is always difficult in the UK.)

Will there be an AI industry by the time it's finished?
