1. A community builds something of value
2. The leadership’s interests are severed from the community’s ( #HailHydra).
3. Capital takes ownership of the value
4. Capital extracts rents from the community that created the value
5. Or, failing that, it turns the thing of value into a trophy spittoon or chamber pot
