On my mind: There are a lot of people facing uncertainty and food insecurity in US states right now (because reasons*). If you have the means and haven’t already done so, please consider setting up a monthly donation to a local food bank or food share organization. It’s easy to do, and it has a lot of positive impact in the community where you live. And unless a particular organization is specifically asking for food, it is more efficient and more impactful to donate money than actual food. Thank you**. 🧀🥦🥙
*Reasons: food costs, inflation, wealth inequality, corporate greed, US government shutdown, fascism, job loss, health insurance premiums, aging, discrimination, and more…
**And yeah, it’s pretty shitty that a wealthy nation intentionally manufactures and sustains food crises, rather than ensuring that no one goes hungry. Let’s do something about that, instead of pretending it doesn’t happen.
