You remember Davie504, the guy who got copyright-striked on YouTube for playing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata?
Well, he just found that his music was uploaded to some AI website, and someone “remixed” it and released it for commercial use under their own name.
The video is worth a watch—there is no doubt that the “remixed” song is stolen straight from his videos—and he’s considering taking legal action, but this is #AI in a nutshell: legalized plagiarism and theft at scale.
Listening to the “remixed” audio strongly reminds me of the no-name crud I used to hear on Spotify through their “lo-fi” channels; they’re all computer-generated, with no human artists getting paid.
I hate what AI is doing to artists and creatives.
