What might we learn from the #NoKings protests this weekend?

That authoritarianism has difficulty working itself up into righteous indignation when confronted with well-organised, peaceful & well-mannered protests.

And (as The Bear points out) this is also a useful lesson when thinking about how best to oppose the UK's increasingly authoritarian politics (for instance, we might say, the peaceful protests about the proscription of Palestine Action)

The Revolution Will Be Organised

What the “No Kings” marches taught us: the antidote to tyranny isn’t fury - it’s laughter, clipboards and muscular decency (and there's probably a Gantt chart somewhere).
