Had a lovely long catch-up conversation this evening with older daughter, while I was cooking the daal.

She was talking about Rabbitfoot’s time in the recording studio, and getting to play this fantastic original Moog synthesiser.

I told her my (very different) stories about wrestling with these analog synthesisers, from a time when they were ancient and out of date, rather than vintage and incredibly cool.

A photo of a 1970s-era Moog synthesiser. A short (4.5-octave) piano keyboard at the bottom, and rising behind are ranks of knobs and jacks. Roughly 12 rows of 20 columns of controls. There are a number of colourful and tangled cables connecting one section of the synth to another, or to other electronic units.
