@debacle @torf @kkarhan @fuchsiii @kolev @torproject @xmpp XEP-0174 has been discarded in the serverless project I'm working to (https://nlnet.nl/project/ServerlessXMPP/) because it's mostly adapted to LAN. If we implement a solution to work on wider network, it can be used on LAN too.

Current focus is on RELOAD via https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0415.html but it may change if it proves to be impractical and better option exists.
