We live on a large, round, generation ship. We desperately need economics that sees the world as it actually is, a closed system - factoring in all costs. There are no "externalities" on our generation ship.

The downside of a generation ship this big is that we can't even flush stuff out the airlock without pushing it up to the top of the gravity well first, using a huge amount of energy. There are no externalities!
