So #threads is now adding ads. We still have no idea how #bluesky will eventually monetize, but it's a company running on VC that it will eventually have to provide a return for.

The typical response to fedi is that it's fine but I wish it had this or that, and especially that it needs more people or certain accounts. What doesn't get factored in is the most likely outcome for these services, especially if they win. This really matters when you're building on them.
