American Robins are very common, but every now and then I can get one in some nice light with a bit of a dramatic flair. Clifton, Virginia, USA 8-Jan-2026. #birds #birdphotography #naturephotography

An American Robin posing on a tree branch. The bird is facing about 45 degrees to its right but its head is turned back toward the camera. It's early morning light provides a warm illumination to the orange colored breast and the right eye, side of the face, and beak. It's winter so the branches are bare but the morning light also makes the gray of the bare branches much warmer than at midday.
