In a note to engineers inviting them to a meeting to discuss recent outages, Amazon said there has been a "trend of incidents" in recent months, characterized by "Gen-AI assisted changes," among other factors. Dave Treadwell, a senior vice-president, told employees that senior engineers will now need to sign off AI-assisted changes from junior and mid-level engineers. Here's more from @arstechnica.
