Had a few coyote encounters over the last couple years (including being chased on a bike once!), and learned about the Portland Urban Coyote Project:

@lmorchard are your cats outdoor cats, or are you thinking of neighbourhood cats? SF also has coyotes, but our cat is strictly indoors only, to stop her being eaten. And eating.
@paulmison Yeah, ours have only ever been spoiled sheltered indoor critters.
