1. Write the lyrics
2. Produce the track
3. Mix it so it doesn’t sound like a 128 kbps LimeWire download
4. Take a “moody but mysterious” cover photo
5. Design the cover
6. Become a full-time marketer, promoter, merch manager, social media strategist, and part-time therapist for the algorithm
.. then tease a 12-second clip on TikTok and Instagram for 6 weeks straight until everybody is sick of it. Like: “Should I release this?”
.. and if I’m not completely burned out by then, I can finally release the song?

Make music you like.
Release it.
If other people like it too, that’s a bonus.
