About Cory Doctorow's "Microsoft, Tear Down That Wall!" | EuroStack Directory Project

In response to Cory Doctorow's powerful article, "Microsoft, Tear Down That Wall!", this post outlines the EuroStack Initiative's perspective. Doctorow treats our core mission—building a sovereign European tech stack—not as a fantasy, but as a viable project already underway. This shifts the focus to what he identifies as the next major hurdle: migration. Doctorow identifies the 'Berlin Wall' as the EU's own anticircumvention laws, and his analysis of the DMA's limitations proves why a legal right to portability is not enough. We must now champion the power to migrate by calling for the repeal of these laws, making it the essential next step to ensure EuroStack's success and achieve genuine digital sovereignty.

Trump’s EV retreat is a huge win for his No. 1 trade rival | CNN Business

Two years ago, as President Trump was running for re-election, he derided President Biden’s electric vehicle push as a “hoax” promoted by “Radical Left Fascists, Marxists & Communists.” He wrote on social media at the time: “Within 3 years, all of these cars will be made in China.”

@pluralistic

"Of course, iPhones can (technically) run apps that Apple doesn't want you to run. All you have to do is "jailbreak" your phone and install an independent app store. Just one problem: the US Trade Rep bullied every country in the world into banning jailbreaking, meaning that if Trump (a man who never met a grievance that was too petty to pursue) orders Tim Cook (a man who never found a boot he wouldn't lick) ...

Long thread/4

@pluralistic

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/atlantas-city-run-grocery-sees-early-success-sparking-debate-over-governments-role

"...critics warn that government-subsidized stores could undercut private small grocers, distort food prices, harm consumer choice and ultimately weaken competition."

Actually, they can't do any of that, because all those are effects that Walmart purposefully does to the maximum extent possible.
