Mastodon is not the only microblogging platform on the Fediverse. One of the most popular alternatives is @gotosocial, which is more lightweight and has more user safety features.

You don't have to be a techy person to run your own GoToSocial server. There are managed hosting companies which do all the techy stuff for you and it's included in their hosting fee:

When a big corpo social media CEO says "we are different, we are good and perfect" mostly I don't buy it for a second

They are just another one in the big line of corpo greed over user data

One of the few that can really say they are different are we from the #Fediverse

Not 1 voice from a overpaid CEO but thousands of voices from all different admins, mods and users

There is no perfect platform but there are different platforms
