As furloughed government workers missing paychecks can’t buy food, the Need, Inc. food pantry is at an all-time client high of about 2,000 residents per week while the facility has a scarcity of resources.
The Executive Director said, "Unless we get significant (community) support…our clients are going to see a reduction in what they're getting from us.”

According to that organization, the #US averaged 13.5% in people experiencing hunger in 2024.
