When asked by a reporter on Thursday what #Somalis had to do with the accused Afghan shooter in DC, #Trump said, “Ah, nothing. But Somalis have caused a lot of trouble.”

Since his first term, Trump has attacked Somalis in derogatory, #xenophobic terms.

The move comes as #Trump has fixated on #Somalis living in the #US, using increasingly racist language to attack them. He stepped up his rhetoric in the wake of last week’s shooting of 2 #NationalGuard members in DC, even though the man suspected in the attack is an #Afghan national.

The directive for the #ICE operation in #Minneapolis & #StPaul, MN, came immediately after Trump’s remarks.

On 1st December 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama and was arrested. This started the Montgomery Bus Boycott and began is one of the most powerful stories of organising and social change in US history.
