What is the absolute worst thing human beings have enabled in the modern era?

No, no, forget the usual topics

It is this:

😱 🦟

" #Mosquitoes have arrived in #Iceland

Three #mosquitos were found in Kjós recently. This has been confirmed by the Icelandic Institute of Natural History. This is the first time that the flies have been found on Icelandic soil."

Moskítóflugur komnar til Íslands - RÚV.is

Þrjár moskítóflugur fundust í Kjós á dögunum. Þetta staðfestir Náttúrufræðistofnun Íslands. Þetta er í fyrsta sinn sem flugurnar finnast á íslenskri grundu.

Uninhabited

The view from Bolafjall.

At 634m (2080ft) above sea level are a radar station operated by the Icelandic Coast Guard and a sturdy viewing platform with spectacular views across Ísafjarðardjúp and Jökulfirðir.

Hornstrandir covers 580km² (224mi²) of tundra, cliffs, flowering fields and ice. Uninhabited since the 1950s, a reserve was established in 1975.

Hunting is banned, it's left alone for seabirds and Arctic foxes.

A colour photo in muted shades of blue-grey. Below heavy rain clouds, a jagged mountain range drops directly into the sea. Its flanks are stepped and ridged. Beyond that another cliff is another, hazy with tonal perspective. The ocean waves are small and reflect the grey of the sky.

I didn’t know my favorite Icelandic pop rock band Á Móti Sól (Against the sun) has gone country, but “Fyrstu laufin” (The first leaves) is apt for the season! If the lead singer’s voice sounds familiar, you may have seem him before: Magni Ásgeirsson came 4th in the US TV show “Rock Star: Supernova” back in 2006.
