My soundspace this week has been 1970 Hermosa Beach. Imagine blowing off every other plan to sit front and center at The Lighthouse July 10-12, four sets each night from Lee Morgan. I'd eyeballed the 2xLP for years but Blue Note just released the 12LP complete recordings including audience banter. Morgan is sharp as can be. Unfathomably, he'd be shot on stage at Slug's less than two years later.
