We have a new position paper published in Eos, where we advocate for the wider use of underground observatories to understand how groundwater is replenished.

By directly observing these recharge events, we can make a direct link between groundwater replenishment, weather and climate, providing an evidence base for policy makers and groundwater managers, and a new approach to constrain groundwater models and stalagmite records of past groundwater recharge.

Come and join us and our collaborators on this journey.

Thanks to the American Geophysical Union Eos team for their support, and the Australian Research Council (ARC) for funding.
