@MissConstrue I saw this at the UN facility in Geneva: One day, for the first time after many months, I was going in and out, I saw a guard profiling a person, and it wasn’t very discreet. The security person came into a line of visitors to chat up the “suspect”. Another one suddenly showed up with a dog. This is the UN. In Geneva. There are literally thousands of people from every part of the world going in and out every day, and yet they managed to profile the guy who looked Middle Eastern. An Israeli guy profiling a person who might be an Arab, based on appearance. Old habits die hard, I guess. Imagine the outcry if they’d start profiling people based on the length of their noses.
I chatted him up, and he was Israeli himself in fact, as I suspected. An Israeli security person was profiling an Israeli visitor. One Eastern European, the other Sephardic. It was intimidating as it was atypical sight at a UN facility. If it was an Israeli checkpoint in occupied #Palestine and the guy was a Palestinian, it might have ended very tragically.
#IDF manufactures murderers, and #Israel is exporting #fascism chaos and violence to the rest of the world.
I filed a complaint, but I don’t think anything really came out of it.
