@dangillmor won't be long before some actually competent NAZIs come through the ranks who have brains and charisma. Ones who are downplaying now two terms of the felon just as an anomaly are sleep walking to a rude awakening when this happens. If the opposition to this is tinkering around the edges pandering to NAZIs than making real changes it will be an inevitability. Then again if you're already privileged, it won't matter, even NAZI Germany was a fine place for majority of Germans.

@dangillmor it’s absurd that he can say something like “While I take complete responsibility, I have had no way of verifying their accuracy and am deeply concerned that the message logs in question may have been deceptively doctored.” and you just know the right is going to push the idea that it was doctored. He’s just throwing this statement out with zero evidence (he obviously knows whether or not his own messages were doctored and makes no comment suggesting they were) to try to make people disregard what’s in the chat.

“Im going to create some of the greatest physiological torture methods known to man. We only want true believers,” he continued.

@dangillmor this has been wide spread for decades. Private chats, or chats not immediately available to the public have all sort of fully awful shit being discussed.

Sooner or later this will all just be out in the open and completely normalized. It’s what the the popular majority wants and believes is normal and good.

This not a surprising revelation. It has been known for quite some time that "young republicans" are what the article describes. The thing that should really drive the horror home is how they learned it from their parental "old republicans".

I have a long-time friendship with a work mate - staunch "conservative" who gave lip-service to abhorring J6 in DC but he hasn't changed his stripes because he is aligned...hard to converse when realities are in conflict with messaging.
