9. TAKE ALL YOUR MEDICATIONS before #NoKings. if you are on a schedule, bring them ―even if you think you’ll be home in time, you never know if traffic will be out of control tomorrow.

also, AM NOT AN MD but if you like me, suffer from:

- #sports urticaria, take an antihistamine beforehand
- #fibromyalgia, muscle fatigue or old age after prolonged activity,
-- take an ibuprofen tonight
or
-- take 4oz of tart cherry juice beforehand

2. BE NICE TO YOUR FEET
exfoliate them tonight and slather them with moisturizer and/or vaseline. and tomorrow, before you put your socks on, put on some more vaseline on your feet ―and sunblock on your legs, especially your ankles.

i was married for 20 years to one of your skinfolks. he always would forget to apply sunblock or miss a part of his ankles and they’d burn.

am from team melanin, so i have never had that happen. just making sure y’all don’t burn… 🧵

which brings me to the obvious,

3. SLATHER ALL YOUR NOOKS & CRANNIES WITH SUNBLOCK. even us team melanin need some of that blocking godness, but some of y’all burn to a crisp just thinking about sunshine, so slather all you bits, even your scalp…

4.WEAR A HAT, especially if your follicularly challenged. for the baldies out there, slather than sunblock on your nogging too

5. BRING A HAND TOWEL cuz you are going to sweat and a handkerchief my not be enough… 🧵

6. BACKPACKS ARE AWESOME cuz you carry stuff and have your hands free. am a lazy protestor, so i just pin my banners to my backpack 😉

7. START HYDRATING NOW because that way your body will regulate itself by the time of the protest ―if you’re a bit dehydrated, you will be peeing more now than by the time you hit the #NoKings streets

8. BRING SNACKS keep them balanced: not too salty or sugary ―though i’ve been know to eat chips & bananas as a protest snack… 🧵

10. STRAP ON A MAXI PAD cuz lord knows where the next available toilet will be. one too many “WHEN DO WE WANT IT? NOW!” can make you dribble a little and not in the basketball sense of the word either.

that reminds me…

11. THAT BACKPACK IS FOR TOILET PAPER. it’s the first thing to go from public toilets during protests, so might as well carry your own.

you can do no wrong with your own moist towelettes either.
