In a culture that is brutal in its suppression of #SexWork, including disapproval, punishment, debanking, and every other means of devaluing the people who do it, to see #AI companies pivot to “horny" is even more awful than many of their other industries.
Let me get this straight: it's okay to throw billions of dollars at letting people get off to LLMs, but if a woman wants to get paid to turn men on, that's wrong somehow?
Fuck everything about this timeline.
@offby1 Even worse: it's okay to steal a truly absurd amount of text, image and video to build the sexy talk/image bot that they want to make money on but god forbid you a single individual make text, image or video that you want to sell if it involves sex (and you don't go through a barely allowed mediator like a publishing company or "legit" but possibly abusive porn production company).

Didn't you hear? It is god's decree that men are entitled to women's bodies and sexuality, so if women are able to charge for it and are safe from coercion/abuse while doing so then it kind of threatens the whole pyramid.

@offby1 yes, a society which tells women their path to financial freedom is sex work is deeply wrong. Sex work is bad, actually, regardless if performed by human or AI.

And that's only half the problem, @offby1 – what if I'm horny and I want to *pay* someone for making a video that turns me on? I'm as shit-out-of-luck as the sex worker and, consequently, my only real options are free 'tube sites which I despise with every fiber of my being and which – also – bore me rather than arouse.
Instead of free 'tube sites we're now to have paid-for LLM-porn? Somehow, that's better? It's not: it's worse for the disenfranchised sex-worker and for use horny types!
Probably the LARGEST profiteer off sex work is hotel chains. Owned entirely by the men putting women in jail, preventing women from peeing, getting trans killed, bribing judges to overturn LGBTQ rights, and pounding podiums for hate.
