Day 2 of the Luigi Mangione NYC pre-trial hearings are underway.
A raft of dirty cops are giving statements but before for the legal details I hear the most newsworthy part of today's updates will likely be the release of more photos of Luigi at trail.
The key witness today is Detective Joseph Detwiler, a dirty local cop.
So of course at the time Luigi didn't know this was a dirty cop. But this was a dirty cop whose probably fucked up the whole case.
Det Detwiler is the officer who demanded Luigi's ID (the first part of the illegal stop+search) and reviewed it, allegedly bc he was in McD's too long.
This initial stop was a pretext and during such police interactions its actually legal to use a fake name and possibly even ID in Pa.
