Having spent thousands of dollars on Cobra, only to have Kaiser terminate my account without notice or warning, and back-date the termination to December, I called Kaiser. It took 54 minutes to speak to someone, who could not resolve this issue. I have been waiting to speak to someone who may be able to resolve my issue for 71 minutes now.

@pluralistic Kaiser billing support is the ninth circle of hell. And the entire time they tell you to go to their website which weren鈥檛 actually do anything. They are quite nice in person and confident if you walk in and having talked with a few, Wednesday 5 PM PST is best time to get fast customer support oddly

@pluralistic two words, "jury nullification"

That sucks and I empathize. My family went through a similar thing once. Had to get a local TV News trouble-shooting journalist involved (our national insurance provider is Seattle-based).

He managed to get a clear answer from their CTO: a billing systems migration failed. It was easier to cancel all customers who pay by "ACH push" than fix it properly. "We recommend customers re-sign up with a credit-card or their bank debit details..." they said on-air...

@pluralistic I recently had a similar issue with our phone company. They shut off our land line without warning, and calls to "support" went in circles.

A complaint to the FCC and the BBB got their attention and they put *real* effort into fixing my issue. YMMV.

Kaiser is major health insurance provider.. generally known as being one of the better ones, kind of sort of.

COBRA is a provision to maintain your employer based healthcare, so a provider like Kaiser, when you have left an employer. You basically continue on with your employer鈥檚 healthcare plan at great expense. This coverage is available for limited time if I recall correctly.
