Discovery is important, especially when you're just starting out on Loops, and may not know who to follow.
Our Suggested Accounts algorithm learns from your behavior, and intelligently recommends accounts you may like to follow on Explore, Notifications and other screens.
The best part is it's open source, privacy friendly and you can hide suggestions to train it better.
Just one of those small, but essential details that can make all the difference.

Has the android app ever been updated since the login fix?
I had to quit using it because it was unbearable. :(

Uninstall the old version first, then download the new APK and install it.

@dansup no algorithm please. Just posted my first clip, but will delete the account fast if algorithm will be active. Also no recommendations because of this.
@Kva You can disable the Algorithm in Settings -> Feeds and completely hide it.
Please consider that most people want one, and those that don't can basically hide it and never use it.
@dansup @Kva maybe discovery algos could be opt-in ?
And IIRC you had some friction in the community (of devs and/or early adopters) about suggested server for account creation (purist were complaining it would result in fediverse re-centralization).
And something about interaction with external non-video posts 🙂
Even so, I'm always recommending your app in YT comments when they cite UpScrolled.
@pr_ret_lutz @Kva yeah they are, you can disable this in the Privacy Settings
@dansup But why filtering out the not local accounts? Would be great if I would also get recommendations for accounts from other servers that other people on this server follow/like.
@dansup With that you wonder; why is it 'needed' to have so complex AI discovery algorithms that uses every bit of you data and actions to display you the more brainrotted and slopped videos you have ever seen?
This weekend I am going to check out Loops, I honestly had lost the faith on it but now I see that it came out! If I like it, I offer myself to write the whole app translation into spanish myself as I did with #PeerTube if help i needed!
