#WritersCoffeeClub day 30: This month, how did you successfully navigate a challenge or a sticky point in your writing?
That happens to me pretty much every working day and is unmemorable as a consequence.
#WritersCoffeeClub Today I *FAILED* to surmount the challenge posed by starting the day with a medical appointment at 9:30am that included the memorable phrase, "I'm just going to lay this fine silver electrode across your cornea ..."
@cstross how does it compare to having a suction cup attached to your eyeball? That was an experience I could have done without (being someone who has never been able to tolerate contact lenses, even).
@oddhack Never had that; I'd rate this as "less unpleasant than lens replacement surgery without sedation", but not by a huge margin.
@cstross I am already getting cross-overs to Marathon Man with Olivier as the sadistic ophthalmologist
@cstross Beats the injections. But yeah.
@cstross that does seem like a reasonable acceptance of the limitations of the flesh, somehow.
@cstross That sounds like a quite uncomfortable start to your day
@cstross "For you, it was a soul-gripping moment, lost in the throes between ripping your hair out and screaming in frustration that the Muse would, once again, deny you your rightful glories. For me, it was Tuesday."
@cstross "Asked and answered, your honour."
