@johnefrancis @chad I generally think floor crossing isn’t cool. In her case, though, the rationale to do what’s best for her constituents seems genuine and sincere, as I’m not sure that Nunavut gets much attention in Parliament in general. If she’s managed to get some federal resources directed that way, good on her. (And I write this as an NDP member!)
@uxmark @chad what can the LPC offer, conditional on her joining their party?
Why can't the riding constituents or anyone else observe that deal, and decide for themselves?
She could've openly or confidentially negotiated her vote support for whatever the riding requires, and dared the NDP to remove her from NDP caucus for doing that or supporting the LPC on some vote.
What she probably got is a promise to be the LPC candidate and campaign support in the next election...
@chad I didn't expect that... Liberal policy since the election is conservative policy without the bigotry, so i understand why Conservatives are defecting. But what NDP values is this government displaying?
