Here's the thing with Gen-AI.

First, AI has existed since Clippy. We all loved Clippy, didn't we? Or maybe I loved the Genie, the cat, or the dog. I dunno.

When we look at Gen-AI, the video and image bullshit is absolute bullshit and needs to end. Period. The end. This is the Gen-AI bullshit that is sucking up our water and power all to promote the dead internet theory.

However, when Gen-AI can produce code that might need months to produce, and I can review it in a couple of days to make sure it's okay, this is where I think Gen-AI shines.

I can tell it to write things, and it identifies dependencies I might not have ever considered, but after review, I look at it and say, "yeah, that makes sense".

This is where it makes sense.

Where doesn't it make sense? Eliminating jobs for an AI that writes code.

If you're an employer doing this, enjoy the brain drain you've created, and good luck when you get hit with a cyberattack, and your staff doesn't know your code. It's not if, it's when.

@chad It shouldn't be how many people can we lay off, it should be what do we do with 10x productivity from our people.
The biggest story everybody is missing is how AI will be a force multiplier for small businesses.
