Educators have been hit harder than most by generative AI. @brianmerchant spoke with some of the people affected, some of whom have already lost their jobs as a result of AI, and some who are attempting to educate the new generation. "Increasingly my students genuinely do not understand why they should not use AI anyway... what is the point of ‘wasting’ days researching and writing an essay when the AI version will be as good or even better?" says one university lecturer.
