Lovely thoughtful video. It is so important to recognize that so much of the good we cherish about our society was accomplished by such terribly flawed people. Living with the uncomfortable truths and contradictions of our past helps open our eyes to the uncomfortable truths of our present. The dethroned idols of the past help us to be appropriately wary when the push is on to idolize in the present: a mature and inclusive society prefers uncomfortable truths to self-pleasing fiction.
