Wild! A meteorite may have struck the windshield of a 737 flying over Colorado, according to early reports.

Whatever the object was, it cut a pilot's arm but did not seriously damage the plane.

Here is more information about United Airlines flight 1093, which was struck by something at 36,000 feet.

The captain speculated it was falling space debris (natural or human). But extreme-altitude hail might also be a possible explanation.

United Captain Says His Plane Was Hit By Space Debris At 36,000 Feet — New Photos Show Cockpit Damage - View from the Wing

The captain of the United Airlines 737 that diverted to Salt Lake City says his plane was struck by space debris while cruising at 36,000 feet. Newly surfaced photos of the cockpit show impact damage that appears consistent with a high-speed collision from outside the aircraft.
