I'm not sure what people were thinking when they voted for Brexit, but its unlikely they were thinking China was a better business partner than Europe?
Given the concerns about China's threat to national security (which Starmer also mentioned), its difficult to see this as a rational choice - more like a desperate move to shift focus from his failure to re-engage with the EU?
