Because I mentioned it earlier and because it's Friday and the world could use some sassy warmth, here's the Calcifer I knit a few years ago for a friend. He's made from 100% angora (rabbit, not goat) yarn. I couldn't find the right colors so I got skeins of white and dyed them with Jacquard acid dyes, just like I did today. He's also stuffed with combed wool instead plastic (poly-fill). He's also squishy and soft and just a general delight. #knitting #FiberArts

A Calcifer: he is a cartoon flame from Howl's Moving Castle. He has 3 layers of color; a deep red (the same red I used today), bright almost neon orange, and saturated yellow. He has white round eyeballs and looks a bit shaken because his pupils are crossed and uneven. He's sitting on my right thigh (I'm wearing jeans) leaning against the calf of my left leg, which is resting on the right leg. I'm sitting on a pale yellow couch that's also visible, as are my Princess Mononoke socks.
