I'll say this on music. I lean towards rock. That doesn't mean I'm locked into it, it just means if I'm looking for something, I'm probably reaching for the Doom Metal, Prog, Psychedelic or Grunge shelf, or adjacent like your Fiona Apples and Counting Crows, Blind Melon, Pavement, Melvins, Tool, Ween, or Gorillaz. I do like me some techno on occasion, but I really more prefer sample-based stuff like RJD2, or The Avalanches. I do really enjoy ambient and kinda get meditative to it. My favorite of that is Hammock.
I was born in 1988, does it show? lol.
I'm not afraid to like something for what it is or because it's goofy, either. There are some Limp Bizkit tracks that absolutely slap and I've died on some horrible hills for what you'd likely consider otherwise bad music. Cringe is out the window. I don't care, lol. I have sang Carly Rae at full volume while downshifting into third and stomping it. We've gone there.
*Favorite-favorite....favorite?*
My favorite artist, right now?
King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard
what genre are they? *

Old review.
THE BLACK DOG - Temple Of Transparent Balls

Their somewhat humble 'middle' album between 'Bytes' and 'Spanners'. It certainly sounds like it.

I was out of town recently and saw this sign. Had to take a picture.
New podcast Episode: 061: Live set from STB
Yes after all my complaining and musing and ranting and nearly buying the wrong decks I ended up putting in the grind work and now I'm pretty happy with that live setup and the end result produced on it.
Boosts appreciated!
This mix is 50 mins and goes all over the place. It starts off quite mellow and minimal, then gets a bit trancey (see, i do melodies sometimes!) and has some nice deep technp moments. But sure as the wind and tides, inevitably it all descends into wompy chaos and we are immersed in a world of noise. Because the noise is all that ever was.

*new avi for music stuff so figured I'd post it here at the same time
Following on from that TR8S experimentation... New Podcast episode. This served a a good brain-emptying mix after doing accounts. I didn't really have the spoons to set up a whole rig so this is just the TR8S into the digital recorder.
I had wanted to try and figure out what I did in episode 042 (going full krista) and see if I could replicate that degree of #yomp on a more compact setup, and figure out what made it work, and how to do more with the beats within that.
The TR8S has quite a lot of depth of settings for stuff if you really poke around so whilst it doesn't really volunteer filthy acid basslines, they can be coaxed out if you tickle it right, and the way you can stack settings up makes for some rather satisfying sounds.
Duration: ~15min, live mix, heavy drums/techno.
