Traditionally #vegan food in #romania is such a highlight❤️🩹 Since fasting in hortodox christianity (mainly done before Eastern) translates to eating vegan food + honey, plant-based options and variations of traditional cooking are endless, affordable, and available in every restaurant. What a dream.

- Fasole batuta - smashed white beans
- Zacusca - sauce of eggplants, peppers and tomatoes
- Salate de vinete - sauce of eggplants and onions
- Placinta cu gutui si pere - cake with apples and peara
- Invartita - filled dough with mushrooms, potatoes or apples
TO GO:
- Varza calita - stewed cabbage
- Mamaliga - similar to polenta
- Sarmale de post - cabbage leaves filled with rice
- Ghiveci de legume - vegetable stew
- Iahnie de fasole - thick white bean salad
- Coliva - wheat pudding with walnuts and cinnamoms (usuay for funerals, hopefully we get to taste it in a different setting👀)
