Does anyone know of any resources to help me learn how to talk to people? Because too often i accidentally make people angry at me or i hurt them and i don't know what i'm doing wrong and no one is able to tell me and i don't know what i'm supposed to do differently and this is really making me hate myself.
Your genes are there to adapt when the environment changes.
.
So when you create your own environments, you are not subject to your genes, your behaviour is not subject to your “genetic legacy,” genes change, they are not there to be anachronistic, to stop you from adapting.
.
Your current genetic makeup is subject to your own environment creating behaviour.
.
This is where Allists have it backwards, the way creationism perhaps would have it.

@CharlieMcHenry that's some gatekeepy bullshit spewed by someone who should start listening to #ActuallyAutistic folks instead of embarrassing himself:
We don't say there's a "Saturn Moon epidemic" because we now found 274 moons and still counting. There's no "Autism diagnosis epidemic" like there was no "left-handedness" or "transness" epidemic. It's only diagnosis catching up with the reality of this neurotype.
Sincerely,
A left-handed trans AuDHD person who does not have a single fuck left to give.

I, #ActuallyAutistic person do not control everything in my life. I dont control how humans interpret what I say.
I'm poor and sore and damaged by others, so my suffering is not solely on being an autistic person.
People misinterpret me, and threaten our lives. Denied enjoyment of things by being locked out and denied, often due to hurt egos that we never intent to hurt.
We cant see your egos or your needs or your feelings either.
Can we, as a whole society, stop assuming stuff we cant see?

I been hurt, over and over, by people in this society. Most of them likely don't mean to hurt me. They just don't know any better.

… people may think about the book, whether or not you were diagnosed early or late, are young or old, or if you are #actuallyAllistic or have Autistic friends, family, or lovers.
I find myself gaining hope that Autistic people may coalesce a culture, identifying and belonging by our positive traits, and leaving behind the pathology of the DSM for a distinct definition of what it means to be ourselves through the lens of #positivePsychology
i asked Perplexity to research, "
how might autism be defined through the lens of positive psychology, leaving pathology and disorder to the DSM, and affirming the cultural identity and characteristic strengths of Autistic people around the world?

my partner has begun reading this to me. she often stops and says, "isn't that autism" or something like that.
we also stop and shake our heads at the sexism here and there.
of course, in the 80s, autism didn't exist in its present definition, which was defined in the DSM in 2013. but also of course, who are now diagnosed Autistic people were just as common then, without diagnosis.

the Martian human in the #book Stranger In A Strange Land by #Heinlein represents the culture of an advanced civilization starkly contrasted with the (literally) ridiculous maze of lies of Earth #culture.
Smith, the Martian human, appears to Earthlings simplistic and dysfunctional and the plot of the book progressively contrasts enlightened Martian culture with primitive and chaotic Earth. we are over halfway through now, and I do find it neuroaffirming, and I wonder what other #actuallyAutistic
