A bicyclist was hit today, on Eglinton and Oakwood.
The city has still not installed the promised and planned bike lanes.
The new LRT has opened. This was meters from the subway station. The city has spent billions on the LRT, and 16 years of construction. Yet the neighbour has been abandoned by the city to car traffic. Prioritizing people traveling from downtown, to the 401 highway, using the Allen Rd.

Look, Canada. We need to get serious about this for a moment: two-tier healthcare isn’t just an Alberta problem. It’s convenient for other governments to sit back and let Alberta (deservingly) take the heat on this, meanwhile they’re all quietly standing by and letting it happen in other provinces (and federally). How long have we been promised fixes to our failing healthcare system? How’s that going so far?
The reality is that ALL our leaders are creating the conditions that will push us into a private system, some are just more transparent about it than others.

We in #Ontario need to start having similar protests!
#DougFord and Health Minister #SylviaJones (who does not have a Medical Degree or any prior Medical policy experience, she's John Tory's former Executive Assistant and has a technical college diploma in Radio Broadcasting!) have been hollowing out our healthcare system too.
We need to push back against the privatization and two-tierification of our medical system.
Equal Access to Healthcare is a Human Right!

I would also like to add, while most disabled people are not able to work, we are a walking economic stimulus package.
Do you have any idea how many people I would employ if given enough resources to take care of myself? Pharmacists, food services, physical therapists, psychologists, home supports, transportation....
A high tide floats all boats. Support disabled people and lift the whole fekkin economy up too.

Good article. Good recommendations:
•Protect human rights by progressively realizing the right to an adequate standard of living.
•Address systemic causes of poverty for marginalized communities.
•Ensure income supports are adequate to afford housing.
End shelter benefit clawbacks for unhoused recipients.
Expand deeply affordable housing supply to match the scale of need.
Confront systemic discrimination in housing and employment.

“I think about the connections between health and housing… I think at some of the work that Dr. Andrew Boozary has led that looks at those who are really high users of the health system, and making sure that we can connect them with housing. Look at the difference it makes in their wellbeing, but also look at the difference it also makes to other parts of health care and other social supports.”

Peter Tabuns is a climate leader, a tireless fighter, and a pillar of the Ontario NDP.
Re-elected six times, he’s spent decades fighting for families and environmental justice. His principled advocacy and commitment to his constituents embody the best of the NDP.
I’m grateful for his support.

Doug Ford didn't even give @GraphicMatt 15 minutes...
this is being done so that the various conservation authorities will be easier for developers to bully.
"Ontario will consolidate its 36 conservation authorities into nine across the province."
