I've run away to join the Zirkus!

I've been on Octodon Social since July 2017 (you can find my old posts at https://octodon.social/@ValerianForrest) but I'm jumping to this instance because I think I'll get more out of the local timeline here.

I'll mostly be talking about the #Arts (particularly #Theatre and #ClassicalMusic), #Travel (I'm partial to a spot of fantasy city break planning), #Eurovision and World Expos/World's Fairs ( #WorldExpo ).

Speaking of #ClassicalMusic, if you haven’t already heard Chloe Chua play the violin, you are in for a real treat. This 19 year-old virtuoso, the daughter of a music teacher, started on the piano at 2 years-old and the violin at 4 years. She’s won numerous #Music competitions and already been the ‘artist-in-residence’ at the #Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Simply an amazing young talent. #Violin

Just finished my morning pot of black tea, a blend of Lapsang Souchong and Assam (equal parts) and listening to “Sunday Baroque” on my local #PBS radio station. If this wonderful program is not available in your location, you can stream it online at https://ijpr.org. Pick the “classical” service and tune in. The station, based at Southern Oregon University, also has a “rhythm & news” service that plays popular contemporary music, along with themed programs like the Folk Show, Jazz Show, and American Roots music. #tea #music #ClassicalMusic #radio #PublicRadio

Dark Forest Maze — A dark forest with trees so dense that sunlight cannot break through the canopy above.

Giant mushrooms thrive here, and are as tall as some of the trees.

Bioluminescent plants emit a hazy glow, the only light that exists here.
